
2012 is my year! I am trying to lose 75 lbs before next summer through exercise and healthy eating. I am also attempting to become somewhat sustainable within the city limits by raising backyard hens and starting a vegetable garden, potted herbs, and berry bushes! I'm also going to school to be an elementary teacher, and it is my goal to help every one of my future students recognize their worth and what they are capable of achieving.

185 lbs v. 155 lbs.
I still have 45 more lbs to go before I reach my goal, but I think 30 lbs in 6 months is a huge accomplishment. 1200 net calories a day plus 5-6 one-hour sessions at the gym every week plus at least 64 ounces of water a day equals results!
I lost another 2 lbs this week! I don’t know how I did that, but I’m happy. 30 pounds total weight loss so far. I’m less than 10 pounds away from my halfway point, and it feels SO good!

Dallas creepin’ on some homemade baked sweet potato wedges with Gardein chipotle lime meatless “chicken” fingers. Less than 400 calories (because when final exams are around, you don’t always have time OK). P.S. Everything burnt is better.
Since joining the gym I’ve lost another 1.5 lbs! I’m down to 158 now, 27 pounds down from my starting weight. Although diet plays a huge role in weight loss, exercise is that extra push your body really needs to see a change!

I find it really interesting that my weight loss followed the same pattern this time around as it did in the summer of 2010…right down to the plateaus, holiday weight gain, and everything. Funny how our bodies work that way, eh?
